What is the Metal Building Intended to be Used For?
This pre-engineered metal building is intended to be used as a carpet retail store with room for attached retail lease space. The Carpet Liquidators store will be located in Olympia, Washington.
The customer wanted the flexibility of steel building construction to create a custom building plan that best suited their business needs. From start to finish, constructing a metal building was the perfect solution for this buyer.

When Did the Building Process Begin?
In February of 2019, PBS was contacted by Mountain Construction to look at the project that would become our featured building in this post.
In October of 2019, Neil Chambers (Relationship Sales Manager) attended a design meeting hosted by Franklin Ng and Brian Wilson of Architectural Werks Inc., in Kirkland WA. Mike Swarthout from Mountain Construction and the project owner, Mike Fleming were also present at this meeting.
We worked through the design process, helped them assess their building needs, addressed any questions or concerns they had, and the steel building was ordered in February of 2020.
After project managers worked on the design and complexity of the building, processing orders, and shipping out the materials, construction of the metal building began and Mountain Construction was ready to get started on bringing this building to life.
When Was the Building Complete?
The project of constructing this steel building began in the spring of 2021 and was completed in late 2022. Along the way, there were supply chain problems in regards to obtaining the electrical equipment for the project as well as a many month delay in getting hooked up to electricity.
Despite these issues, the customer was incredibly happy with their building. With over a year of work, we were proud to see their steel building come together.
Were There Any Issues When Constructing the Metal Building?
